Keith A. Knoell M.D., FAAD

Dr. Keith Knoell has been a practicing dermatologist in the Shenandoah Valley for over 21 years. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Knoell completed his dermatology training at the University of Virginia and is a graduate of the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine at Rutgers University.

 

His primary fields of interest are medical dermatology and cutaneous surgery. He is the author of more than 20 scientific research papers, two U.S. patents and has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards in the fields of basic science and medicine. He is on the consulting staff at Augusta Health.

 

In his spare time, he likes to travel, ski and golf. It is his continuing privilege to provide dermatology care for patients in the Shenandoah Valley.

 

Dr. Knoell was voted one of the best dermatologists in central Virginia by Virginia Living Magazine for 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Yara New

Yara R. White, PA-C

Yara was born in Colorado and raised in Virginia. She completed her undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech in Human Nutrition, Foods, Exercise and worked in the hospital setting as an Exercise Physiologist for several years until deciding to further her education to become a Physician Assistant. She completed a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from James Madison University in 2007.

 

She moved to North Carolina after graduation and enjoyed the outdoors and lively culture of Asheville for many years until relocating back to Virginia to be closer to family.

 

Outside of work, Yara enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, one dog, two cats and a hamster. She also loves running, hiking and generally spending time outdoors, with sunscreen on, of course.

Eli

Eli Crisler, MSN, FNP, DCNP

Eli is a certified dermatology nurse practitioner who grew up as the eldest of four on a small family farm just outside of Crozet, Virginia. Her undergraduate studies were completed at James Madison University where she studied nursing.  She began her professional career at the University of Virginia Medical Center as a general medicine and resource nurse.

 

She later returned to JMU for her Masters of Nursing, graduating as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021.

 

When not at work, you can find her mountain biking with her husband, hiking with her daughter, running, doing yoga, growing a small vegetable garden or spending time with friends and family.

Emily 1

Emily Hivick, PA-C

Emily grew up in the Charlottesville area and completed her undergraduate studies at James Madison University. Knowing she wanted to pursue a career as a physician assistant, she gained healthcare experience by working as a dermatology medical assistant. She then returned to school to pursue her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree at Emory & Henry College. Ultimately, her love of the Shenandoah Valley drew her back to establish her career.

 

Outside of work, she can be found hiking with her beloved beagle, Brandy, doting over her nieces & nephews, and spending time in nature with her fiancé.
